A new round of funding is available for community groups in Blaby District wanting to expand or develop their activities.
If your group is based in Blaby district, and benefits people in the district, you may be eligible to apply for a Blaby District Council (BDC) community grant.
Community Action Blaby District administers the grants programme on behalf of the council and two schemes are now available, with funding of up to £500 available for project running costs, and up to £5,000 for capital expenses (such as building work or equipment purchase).
The grant programme aims to support a wide range of community groups.
Last quarter, 19 groups shared over £15,000 in funding.
Grants were given for a variety of projects including a choral project, temporary skate park, day out for carers, and new children's play equipment in a park.
Priority is given to schemes that develop new activities within the community, and groups that have not received a grant within the last three years.
Applications for BDC grants are accepted quarterly and the next deadline is 27 August 2010.
For more information, or to request an application packet, please contact the Community Support Organiser at Community Action on 0116 2727669 or email
