The six artists involved in the Art in Earl Shilton Gallery project have now become seven!
The group has welcomed local artist Spencer Burrows to exhibit in the Gallery ? Spencer works in oils and can undertake commission for portraits, local views and buildings.
More developments are afoot for the Wood Street gallery as members have re-decorated the room upstairs, spot lights have been fitted and the handymen are awaiting the delivery of the picture hanging system.
As soon as this is installed ? any moment now! - bookings will be taken from artists who want to have a ?one man show? in the upstairs area.
Considerable interest has already been shown in this idea and it will extend the range of work on show in Earl Shilton.
The initial arrangements are that the artist will pay a fee of £50 for the room for a week.
Contact the Gallery on 07985 601 083 during opening hours ? Tuesdays to Saturdays - 10.00a.m. to 5.00 p.m. and some Mondays.
The artists are also taking their work out to the public.
There will be a stall at the Earl Shilton Street Fair to be held on Wood Street Park on Sunday 27th June - and if you miss them there they will be at the Market Bosworth Show on Sunday 4th July.
An important date for your diaries is Saturday 10th July at the Gallery in Wood Street, Earl Shilton when guest of honour Roger Ellis, Mayor of Earl Shilton will make the draw at 11.00 a.m. for the prize of £100 worth of vouchers to spend at the gallery.
Plenty of flyers are still available so look out for them around the district and return them to the gallery in time for the draw. Works being shown at the gallery are rotated regularly and new pictures are often on display so if you haven?t been yet ? or not for a while - pop along and see the pictures on display.
The artists are a friendly bunch and enjoy chatting about the pictures ? also prices cover the full range so there could be the perfect present for someone waiting for you.
Member of the group Pauline Goodsell said ?We continue to have a steady stream of customers coming into the gallery ? including last week David Tredinnick, our local Member of Parliament.
He enjoyed looking round and we are hoping he will be back as one or two pictures certainly caught his interest! He was very complimentary about the gallery and the efforts being by made by the Business Forum to re-vitalise the centre of Earl Shilton?.
The gallery can be viewed on the Business Forum?s site at www.EarlShiltonBusinessForum.com and also on the group?s own website at www.artinearlshilton.co.uk
