Teachers and their families can see learning come alive at two of Leicestershire County Council?s most popular attractions for free.
Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre and Country Park, and Snibston Discovery Museum are offering teachers the chance to bring their families on a pre-visit to test just how suitable these attractions are for school visits.
Thousands of school children have visited the attractions in 2009 with hands-on learning and interactive exhibits being at the heart of the visitor experience.
Councillor Ernie White, Cabinet Lead Member for Museums at Leicestershire County Council, said: ?Bosworth and Snibston really bring learning to life through costumed interpretation and hands-on exhibits. At Bosworth children can walk in the footsteps of a King on the battlefield guided walk, before meeting medieval soldier Captain Mortimer and being enlisted into King Richard?s army.
An experienced guaranteed to bring the Wars of the Roses to life!
At Snibston children can see how many people it takes to lift a mini, make fire the 'original' way, hear what life as a miner was like and visit the largest fashion gallery outside of London.
Both museums have such a lot to offer in terms of learning outside the classroom, I hope as many teachers as possible will take advantage of this unique opportunity'
